BRIONNE THOMPSON | Associate Attorney
Brionne brings a wealth of experience in both Personal Injury, and Family law. Committed to delivering quality service, she strives to provide clients with clear, effective, and compassionate legal representation during some of their most challenging moments.
With a deep-rooted dedication to community engagement, Brionne believes in the importance of building strong, lasting relationships both inside and outside the courtroom. Whether advocating for fair compensation in personal injury cases or guiding families through complex legal matters, she is known for a thoughtful, client centered approach.

As a native Houstonian, University of Houston alumna, and proud graduate of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Brionne has a deep understanding of the importance of fostering strong community connections. When not working, Brionne enjoys spending time with family and friends, cherishing the moments of connection and support that are so vital to a balanced life. A self-proclaimed bookworm, Brionne also loves to get lost in a good book, always seeking new knowledge and perspectives.
ANASTASIA DAVILA | Paralegal
Anastasia joined The Law Office of Cherika Edwards in 2020 as a legal assistant and was shortly thereafter promoted as a paralegal. She is a dedicated paralegal with experience in managing and supporting the attorney with caseloads. Her skills include managing client deadlines, communication among parties, document preparation and document filing in state court.
Graduating from San Jacinto Community College with an Associates Degree in Life Sciences. Anastasia decided to further her education in Paralegal Studies and received her Paralegal Certification from the University of Houston Downtown.
She is a proud affiliate and sweetheart of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity and a member of the Houston Paralegal Alumni Association. She enjoys quality time with her beautiful children Londynn and Jai Rose, vacationing with family and friends and keeping up with current events.
CHARDAE DOWNER | Law Clerk
Chardae Downer is a dedicated law clerk and passionate advocate with a focus on personal injury and family law. A proud graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Chardae combines her strong academic background with a deep commitment to serving her clients with integrity
and compassion.
Originally from New Jersey, Chardae earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina A&T State University, where she honed her leadership and problem-solving skills. Her legal career is grounded in a personal commitment to representing clients with professionalism, empathy, and dedication. Chardae has worked tirelessly to help individuals navigate the complexities of personal injury cases and family law disputes, providing thoughtful guidance and strong advocacy at every stage of the legal process.
In her personal life, Chardae is an avid traveler who loves exploring new cultures and destinations, often drawing inspiration from her experiences abroad. She also enjoys cooking in her free time, finding joy in creating delicious meals and experimenting with new recipes. Whether in the courtroom or in her personal pursuits, Chardae’s passion for advocacy and making a positive impact is at the heart of everything she does.
BRIONNA GREEN | Legal Assistant
Brionna joined The Law Office of Cherika Edwards in early 2024 and is now one of our Legal Assistants for Family Law & Personal Injury. She is dedicated to helping the Attorneys, Law Clerks, and Paralegals create solutions for the best outcome for our clients.
Brionna is a proud native of Los Angeles, California continuing her education at Compton College receiving her Associate degree in Political Science and Government where she received multitudes of awards, synopsis recognition, and more. She then furthered her education receiving a merit scholarship to attend Houston Baptist University, excelling academically on top of being a part of Student Organizations as the Event Coordinator, exceptional and engaged member of the Law Society program, chair of Fundraising, and other office positions on campus. In 2022 she was proud to graduate with honors and obtain her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Law.
She has a passion for helping others and the community where she volunteers every month and gives back. She loves going back to Los Angeles to visit and spend time with family & friends. Aside from that, she loves to travel to new countries and spend time with the locals experiencing their culture, food, and language.
ASHLEY NGUYEN | Legal Receptionist
As a Houston native with strong ties to the community and a proud Vietnamese heritage, Ashley is grateful to be part of such a diverse and vibrant city. Growing up in this environment has shaped her values of connection, culture, and hospitality — qualities that guide her both personally and professionally.
In her role as a Legal Receptionist, she takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming, and professional first impression for every client who walks through the firm’s doors. Her responsibilities include onboarding new clients, managing a multi-line telephone system, planning firm events, and scheduling client-attorney appointments with care and attention to detail. She is committed to ensuring that every client interaction is handled with professionalism, patience, and empathy — whether guiding new clients through the intake process, answering inquiries, or coordinating schedules to support the legal team’s workflow. She understands the importance of being approachable, attentive, and supportive, especially when clients may be facing challenging situations.
Beyond the office, she is passionate about giving back to the community that shaped who she is today. She stays actively involved in volunteer work and local outreach initiatives, always striving to make a positive impact and contribute to the growth and well-being of the city that raised her. In addition to volunteer work, she enjoys spending time with her dog and exploring different cultures and cuisines.
KIERA HART | HR Manager
Kiera Hart joined the law firm in 2021 as our HR Manager. Kiera has a background of assisting small businesses from just the start of an idea to overseeing the full operations of the businesses. She is also highly experienced in customer service and healthcare leadership.
Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Kiera pursued her Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston. She then furthered her education with obtaining her Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston Downtown.
Kiera continues her activism with her Alma Mater as she currently serves as the University of Houston Black Alumni Association’s President. She is quiet the social butterfly but loves spending time with family, friends and colleagues.
EJO DE GUZMAN | Marketing Assistant
Ejo is a highly committed and results-driven virtual assistant from the Philippines, known for her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. She takes pride in delivering high-quality services to clients and is passionate about designing and creating impactful marketing content and materials across various platforms.
She holds a bachelor's degree in International Travel and Tourism Management from Lyceum of the Philippines University in Manila, where she consistently excelled academically, earning a place on the dean's list.
With a decade of experience in the aviation industry, Ejo has worked for one of the leading airlines in the country, where she gained expertise and became qualified to fly on any of the company’s aircraft to any destination.
Beyond her professional career, Ejo is a lifelong learner who enjoys exploring new experiences, conducting in-depth research, and immersing herself in scenic destinations. She thrives on meeting individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. A true foodie at heart, she also has an undeniable soft spot for dogs.
